Unidad 6 – Página 6 y 7

Hey! Oh my gosh, I’m so glad you called — it’s been such a crazy day. Everyone decided to stay home today, I don’t even know why.

So like… I’m trying to relax, but my brother has the TV on full volume in the living room. He’s watching some movie — I don’t even know which one. And right next to him, well, not right next to him, but my sister is upstairs in her bedroom doing her homework. At least someone’s being productive!

Oh, and my grandparents are here too. My grandmother went outside a little while ago — she’s in the backyard watering her plants, she does that every afternoon. And my grandfather? He’s been in the garage all morning. Washing his truck. Again. That man loves that truck more than anything.

Let’s see, who else… oh, my cousin stopped by earlier and she’s still here. She’s in the kitchen making breakfast — I know, it’s two in the afternoon, but that’s just how she is. And my nephew is running around outside in the yard playing with the dog. I can hear them from here.

My niece just went upstairs — she’s taking a shower, finally. And my parents are in the dining room. They found a box of old photo albums and now they’re just… sitting there looking at pictures. They’ve been there for like an hour.

Oh, and my siblings went to the park a little while ago to play soccer with some friends, so at least the house is a little quieter without them.

And my in-laws — did I mention they’re visiting? They’re in the guest room taking a nap right now, so I really have to keep my voice down.

Anyway, that’s why I can’t really talk! Call me tonight, okay?

¡Hey! Dios mío, qué bueno que llamaste — ha sido un día de locos. Todo el mundo decidió quedarse en casa hoy, ni siquiera sé por qué.

O sea… estoy tratando de relajarme, pero mi hermano tiene el televisor a todo volumen en la sala. Está viendo alguna película — ni siquiera sé cuál. Y justo al lado de él, bueno, no justo al lado, pero mi hermana está arriba en su cuarto haciendo la tarea. ¡Por lo menos alguien está siendo productiva!

Ah, y mis abuelos también están aquí. Mi abuela salió hace un rato — está en el jardín regando sus plantas, lo hace todas las tardes. ¿Y mi abuelo? Ha estado en el garaje toda la mañana. Lavando su camioneta. Otra vez. Ese hombre quiere a esa camioneta más que a nada en el mundo.

A ver, ¿quién más…? Ah, mi prima pasó por aquí hace un rato y todavía está aquí. Está en la cocina preparando el desayuno — ya sé, son las dos de la tarde, pero así es ella. Y mi sobrino está corriendo por el jardín jugando con el perro. Los puedo escuchar desde aquí.

Mi sobrina acaba de subir — se está duchando, por fin. Y mis padres están en el comedor. Encontraron una caja con álbumes de fotos viejos y ahora están ahí… sentados mirando fotos. Llevan como una hora ahí.

Ah, y mis hermanos fueron al parque hace un rato a jugar fútbol con unos amigos, así que por lo menos la casa está un poco más tranquila sin ellos.

Y mis suegros — ¿te mencioné que están de visita? Están en el cuarto de huéspedes echando una siesta, así que tengo que hablar muy bajito.

¡En fin, por eso no puedo hablar mucho! ¿Me llamas esta noche, okay?
